Achieva Credit Union Performs Disaster Recovery Testing at their Dunedin Branch
9/26/2011 1:14:07 PM
DUNEDIN, FL – September 23, 2011 – Disaster recovery testing was performed at Achieva Credit Union’s branch located at 1150 Virginia Street, Dunedin, Florida, this week.
In a disaster simulation where the credit union suffers a facility disaster, Achieva Credit Union’s Disaster Recovery partner, Agility, brought in a mobile unit in which operations were set up with portable generator power and satellite communications. Testing was then performed on Achieva’s ability to provide credit union services to their members in a disaster situation, where normal communication and power services are unavailable. Dunedin’s Mayor, Dave Eggers was on site to tour the facility and watch the operation.
“The simulation helped us gain a clear understanding of challenges we would face in the case of a real disaster” stated Gary Regoli, President/CEO of Achieva Credit Union. “We can now work to resolve these challenges so we will be as prepared as we possibly can be should a disaster occur.”
